Club Scrap Blog Hop - Transformations

 photo 0915_hopbadge_zpspec2ojsr.jpg

Welcome back, friends! It's the end of September and the weather is starting to change - that means it's time for a blog hop and it's perfect for this month's Transformations collection!

If you traveled here from the Club Scrap blog, then you are on your first stop of the hop! following the hop! If you've lost your way or just want to see all the links in one place, head back over there to see a list of all the talented bloggers participating today.

The papers and stamps in every kit each month are always amazing, but I especially loved the combination of the serene images, inspirational quotes, and calming colors of this month's kit.

As I was deciding on what to create this month, I looked through my "Drawer O' Projects" and came across an oldie but goodie - an acrylic mini album.

I knew this would be a great way to showcase the papers, the stamps, and those fun fibers that were included in the embellishment pack.

This album kit contained a bookboard back cover, page projectors, and an acrylic front cover.  I knew I wanted to keep the front cover relatively plain since I wanted that amazing ginko paper to shine through, so I kept it pretty simple with the bamboo stamp and the quote.  I stamped both of these with black Staz-On ink - it worked wonderfully with the acrylic cover.

The fun (and quick!) part came when I decorated the C-rings that held the album together.  Every month, you get amazing fibers in the Embellishment Pack and in the Lite kit as well.  They always add a nice touch to your scrapbook pages and cards, but they are so much fun to use all at once like decorating the spine of this album.

I even added one of the gold coins to the cluster of fibers for some added interest.  These types of spines are so easy to decorate - just keep adding ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my project!  Grab your coffee and get hopping and visit each of our talented bloggers today.  Your next stop is Debby - I always love seeing what craftiness she has up her sleeve!

Drop by again next month because I am SO excited to be working with the new Big Top collection - it's going to be a great month!

Club Scrap Sketch Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to this month's Artist Team Challenge!  We got to work with two favorite things - sketches and Club Scrap kits!

This month, I chose to make a scrapbook page using the monthly sketch provided to Club Scrap members.  This is such an awesome perk of being a member - you add amazing sketches you can use over and over to your collection!

I particularly loved this sketch with its use of repeating squares across both pages.  I love to keep with a theme, and using squares helps to keep everything neat and organized.  Plus, the squares are perfect little homes for stamped images or embellishments.  These metal coins fit perfectly.

I love using these Assembly Line sketches because it is so much fun to pick out the papers from your stash or a particular collection and mix and match!  All papers and embellishments on this layout comes from this month's Transformations kit.  They go perfectly with my pictures from New Zealand - really helps to bring out the green and blue of the water!

There are plenty of spaces for photos on this layout, but you can also use the photo mattes for journaling and embellishment.  On this side, I layered a few cutaparts from the Embellishment Pack to have a space to write my memories down.

On the right-hand side of the page, the instructions create a section of 1-inch squares - a great place for small embellishments, or you can do what I do and stamp a image on a solid piece of cardstock and then cut apart to create your own sectioned embellishment.  I use this month's technique of stamping with bleach to create this look - it looks so great against the dark teal cardstock!

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to come back again next week when we are showcasing this wonderful kit again for the monthly blog hop!
